We are an inclusive and family-oriented organization that strives to support our community and enrich the lives of our members by cultivating connections and friendships between local parents, caregivers, and their children.

HWMC provides social events, resources, and education to families across the north shore of Massachusetts. Top story

March, is that you? Did we actually make it out of February? For the shortest month of the year, that felt like an eternity!

For a short month, we sure packed it in. Pickleball was an absolute blast! The money raised at January’s Keg Party was able to brighten some days for patients at Beverly and Salem Hospitals through our “Show Some Love” community outreach campaign. Our wellness team hosted an event at Beverly’s newest fitness studio, MyStryde. Family events set up a private movie screening of the Goat. And book club met to chat about the Broken Country. The snow messed up our plans for a fun morning of gymnastics, but be on the lookout to see if we’re able to reschedule with Iron Rail. Through it all, our baby and toddler groups continued to meet – both have been adding in weekend meetups, which have been great!

We hope March brings us relief from the snow, but we know it will bring us some great programming. We’ve got a MNO wine tasting event, our annual egg hunt (likely will be inside this year since it’s so early!), and muffins at the museum for the dads and kiddos. We will also participate in the “Lots of Socks” campaign in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day during Intellectual Disability Awareness Month. Book club is meeting to discuss Project Hail Mary and planning a special outing to catch a Friday matinee showing of the movie! As always, our baby and toddler groups will be meeting weekly to help get you and your littles out of the house! Also, keep your eyes peeled for an early April floral arranging class, a family outing for mini golf at Richardson’s, and a wellness event with Fit Ritual.

Through the trials of February, I was eternally grateful for the connections I’ve made through HWMC. It’s never easy to be a mom, but this month seemed particularly hard and having a community of women to lean on made the chaos a little more manageable. Remember, you get out what you put in, so we encourage you to come out to the events, build connections, and take full advantage of all HWMC has to offer.
