HWMC provides social events, resources, and education to families across the north shore of Massachusetts. As a member-driven, public-spirited group, we actively invest in and work to build an uplifting and inclusive environment for our membership. While we are founded upon a recognized need to support the unique role of motherhood, we know that parenthood takes many forms and that our children and families face varying circumstances and needs. We welcome and celebrate families of every shape, size, and makeup.

Mothers’ Club Membership Offerings:

Events for Children: Participate in monthly special events which include a Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookie Decorating and more like yoga classes, visits to local play spaces and meet ups with special character visits.
Events for Families: Join us for family-oriented activities like storytellers, magicians, family-friendly performances, bowling nights, movie theater rentals, pizza making parties and more. We also sponsor entertainment at the Hamilton Wenham Block Parties.
Events for Moms: Moms can attend numerous social events including monthly Mom’s Night Out Events, fitness and enrichment classes, our Book Club, and more.
Dad's Night Out: Gathering partners to connect and relax, this group also meets monthly.
Events for Parents: We also host events for couples in our membership including an Annual Kentucky Derby Party and Keg Party.
Monthly Newsletter: Stay informed with a monthly newsletter that highlights upcoming Mothers’ Club event information and other family-oriented activities nearby.
Facebook Community: Connect with other families via our members-only Facebook page which allows members to share tips, recommendations, and other information.
Playgroups for various ages: Attend weekly playgroups for babies, toddlers and an “all ages” playground meet up.
Meal Delivery by Fellow Members: Members volunteer to make meals for families that have welcomed new babies or that are experiencing hardship.
Community Outreach Donation Drives: Participate in donation drives for local charities and support local organizations through fundraising.

A little bit more about us...

Founded in 1913, the HWMC has a long history of striving to enrich and give back to our communities. We support local businesses through our programming whenever possible, and through charitable giving and service we support non-profit organizations across the North Shore and are always open to new opportunities to contribute.

Happy May, ladies! The days are getting longer, the temps are ticking up, and everything seems a little easier when we can get the kids outside.

It was so great to see so many of you at our April events, like floral arranging, family bowling night, and open gym at Iron Rail. We also hosted a lunch and learn for HW moms to hear more about the annual town meeting vote on the school’s budget. If you live in another town and have civic engagement news you’d like to get out to the club, send a note our way! Toddler and baby groups met weekly, working around school vacation. And book club gathered at Colleen’s house to discuss The Correspondent, by Virgina Evans. At all of our events, we’ve been collecting diapers and toiletries from moms to donate to local families in need.

May has some great events coming up! Tomorrow’s Derby party at POST is going to be a blast and a half, and then we’re going to close out the month with the Spring Family Picnic at Patton Homestead. We will also be gathering in Holly’s backyard for some restorative Yoga. This month, new members are invited to Plat Du Jour at the Wenham Tea House to mix and mingle with fellow recent additions – if you’ve joined the club since September, check your Wild Apricot app! Book Club will meet at the end of the month to discuss Heart the Lover, by Lily King. Lastly, we’re trying something new this year - if you’re around MDW and want to move your body, consider signing up for the HWMC team for the 30th annual HW Friends of the Arts “Melody Miles” 5K! As always, baby group and toddler group will be organizing regular meet ups – check the Whats App chats for details!

Speaking of baby group…. Have you SEEN how many new babies have arrived recently? Check out meals for moms to bring one of these families a meal. You don’t even have to cook – grab a rotisserie chicken and some prepared sides, or even just a tub of ice cream or muffins for the morning and you will have made a sleep-deprived fellow member’s life that much easier and more delightful. Community and connection take commitment, and yes, it can be extra work when we are all already stretched to the max, but to have a village, we need to channel our inner villagers. So step in and show up, I promise you’ll get more out than you put in!
