Spring is here!!! It was a treat to see so many of our little bunnies hopping around Patton Park last weekend at the Easter Egg hunt. It was all the more sweet knowing that temps are going up and we have many more park days to come. With the coming of the warm weather we will be moving many of our playgroups outside. If you would like to be updated on locations and times please email hwmcplaygroups@gmail.com to join the list.
We enjoyed meeting new friends at the New Member Social last month. The warm and inclusive spirit shown by our members at events always touches us and this night was no different. Please join us in welcoming new members as you meet them.
Coming up in April our Mom’s Night Out team is planning a wine glass painting night at Artcie. Please join us for a crafty evening painting these much needed mom accessories! Our MNO team has also been working hard to put the finishing details on our annual Kentucky Derby party. This party will be held on Derby Day, Saturday, May 7th. Stay tuned for the official invite!
Our Children’s Events team is working on a kid’s yoga class with our very own yogi, Katy Dagle of Treetop Yoga Studio. Watch your email for the e-vite with details.
Please save the date for the evening of Wednesday, June 8th, when the HWMC will be teaming up with Pathways for Children for their annual fundraiser. Pathways will be presenting a talk by Sonia Manzano who delighted children for over 30 years as “Maria” on Sesame Street. The evening will feature Ms. Manzano discussing Reading Readiness, Children and Television followed by cocktails and a raffle put on by the HWMC. This evening is sure to be a blast!
Thank you to everyone who donated new and used shoes in March. Room to Grow is thrilled to have these shoes to give to families in need. This month we will be collecting children’s food items for Wellspring House. Bring mac and cheese, crackers, applesauce, and any other non-perishable kid favorites to any HWMC event for donation.
The HWMC Enrichment Series continued this month with a talk and discussion led by our own Jeannette Kahn of North Shore Children’s Therapies. Thank you Jeannette for sharing your wisdom and teaching us the importance of soft skills in children’s development. The Enrichment Series will continue in April with a talk and reception by Catherine Newman, blogger, writer and etiquette expert for Real Simple magazine. This event will be hosted by the Wenham Museum and will feature a concurrent children’s event.
We hope to see you at April’s events. As always, please contact us at hwmothersclub@gmail.com with any feedback or ideas you would like to share. We love to hear from you!
Happy spring everyone!
