We are so happy to be back in action as we kick off our 2020-2021 club programs this Fall. We hope you all were able to enjoy some much-needed sun, fun and safe socializing after what was a trying – to say the least – Spring. Despite some inherent challenges that need no introduction, our entire council has been hard at work developing ideas and programs that will allow us to engage safely and meaningfully. While we’ll especially look to take advantage of the weather when possible to conduct some outdoor events (compliant with all current guidelines), we will also be sharing information and coordinating virtual events to continue to provide value, enrichment and connection. Be sure to review this month’s newsletter in its entirety (whenever the chance is afforded to you) to get a sense for all we have planned and what might be most relevant to you and your families. Our Facebook Group and Instagram account will also be great sources of information and inspiration, so make sure to find and follow us at Hamilton Wenham Mothers’ Club (Facebook) and @hwmothersclub (Instagram).
In addition to welcoming several wonderful new council members this year, we also recognized a need for a new role altogether. It’s become more critical than ever to be aware of and engaged in the decisions made relative to our local towns and school districts, yet it’s often challenging to track down and keep up with important info, upcoming meetings and critical decision points. Additionally, some of the Enrichment events coordinated last year put us in touch with local decision makers in a way that provided tremendous value through direct, 2-way communication – and we want to continue to facilitate this type of connection. It’s for these reasons we’ve established a Civic Engagement council chair, which Lauren Schonberger will be heading up in its inaugural year. Her efforts will initially be focused on Hamilton, Wenham and Beverly, as these three towns index highest with our membership. Please don’t miss the important information she’s pulled together at the end of the newsletter! If you’d like to coordinate with Lauren on having your town included, and would be willing to share dates and info with her on a monthly basis for inclusion in our newsletter, please feel free to reach out to her at lischonberger@gmail.com.
Finally, we’ve developed a quick **MEMBER SURVEY** designed to inform upcoming programs and communications. We’d love to hear from as many of you as possible to ensure we are providing as much value and relevancy as we can – so please take a moment to complete it at your convenience.
We look forward to seeing and meeting many of you throughout the year whether in person or virtually, and we wish everyone luck in navigating the complexities of the upcoming school year. Remember to lean on your fellow members whenever you need to – it’s what we’re all here for!
